Cyrtolites thraivensis - Girvan, Ayrshire, Scotland

Gastropods area sub-group of the phylum Mollusca. They were (and are) widespread in distribution and are found today in freshwater, marine and terrestrial environments. The fossil gastropods found at Girvan (as with all the other fossils in the area) were marine in origin.
