Cybeloides girvanensis - Girvan, Ayrshire, Scotland This specimen is preserved with full exoskeleton. The eyes can be seen clearly. They are raised on little stalks, reminiscent of the eyes of the familiar shore crab. This is an Ordovician burrower, with its elevated eyes designed to emerge from the sediment when the rest of the animal is buried. [35mm x 30mm]
