Although the Scottish agates are hard to beat there are many localities worldwide where beautiful agates can be found. Often agates from these different areas exhibit particular and unusual characteristics that make them unique. This is a fantastic website showing agates from Iran where the localities look pristine and unspoiled. Some of the agates. particularly those from Zanjan, remind me of those from certain localities here in Scotland. The terrain looks interesting and unlike Scotland the rocks are well exposed and not covered by soil and vegetation. I think agate collectors worldwide would love to visit some of these sites, myself included. Maziar’s website is worth a visit!
